wifi slowness and intermittent connection issues

 This is very important question for interview as if you are giving interview for wireless controller or network data this question normally asked by interviwer.


We have defined below reason for this issue.


1 - Check if the number of clients registered on the AP does not exceed 20 as recommended by Cisco

2 - Check gain, power, signal and channel settings on the AP

3- Verify AP if the AP is running in good health. The CPU utilization, temperature and memory utilization should be below the specified threshold levels.

4-  Check the switch configuration and verify that the switch is running in good health. The CPU utilization, temperature and memory utilization should be below the specified threshold levels

5- Check for crash on devices if any.

6- Check power supply to both the devices.

A client that associates but cannot obtain an IP address (or falls back to an automatic private IP address APIPA ) is having trouble reaching a (DHCP) server.
